So I should look on the front axle for it's code?
By adjustable column, do you mean tilt column?

There used to be a metal tag held on by one of the diff cover bolts. Whether or not its still there is the question.
And yes, Ford called their tilt column adjustable. The release for it is the turn signal stalk, push forward on it to release the tilt.
