Hey, so this weekend I removed my dash for the first time to install a DIN radio. I have it installed, speakers wired and grounded. No power to it yet. I'm lost as to how the original was powered but I'll figure that out. (picture is the "before" pic)
My issue is that after removing the headlight **** (along with the wiper **** and everything it takes to remove the dash) the headlights no longer work!
The side marker/running lights still work but nothing from the headlights.
Any ideas? Please

Are you sure you got the headlight ****/post locked back in the switch properly? Sounds like you might need a new head light sw?
Ck fuses and did you tap into any wires back in there looking for power? As far as old OEM radio should be a 3 or 4 wire square plug right around the stereo area??
The OEM radio was powered by a GREEN 2-terminal pigtail. YELLOW with a BLACK stripe is switched power, BLUE with RED stripe is dash illumination. Do not mistake the BLUE with RED stripe wire for ground. The OEM radio grounded through its mounting chassis. The speakers were connected over a separate pigtail.
You'll need to be more specific about how you removed the headlight **** and how you re-installed it (assuming that's the case). There are no fuses for the headlights; the headlights are protected by a circuit breaker internal to the switch. I would assume you didn't seat the shaft properly in the switch or use the release button properly, but you need to be more specific about how you handled the switch.
Thank you so much guys. This is exactly what I was looking for. I just removed the dash again and gave the switch the once over. I sanded down the headlight rod to clean the connections and used a can of air cleaner stuff to clean out the switch assembly.
I think the issue was really that the wiring harness that attaches to the switch. I had reconnected it from underneath the dash and I don't think it was seated correctly. So as of right now....WE HAVE LIGHT!
I managed to locate the 2-wire green radio connector. (THANK YOU) I had grounded the radio to the steel harness that is attached to the inside dash frame (hope that makes sense. I think this is the mounting chassis you are referring to).
This weekend I will attach the power and see if everything is working.
Appreciate the info on the dash lights also. I have a weird issue there. The right turn signal works great, but that's it! The dash illumination and interior (dome) lights aren't operating. I checked the bulbs and they appear to be in tact. I guess the next culprit is the fuse. I am also thinking it could be the voltage regulator for the instruments. I can't imagine why just 1 of the lights works so well and the others have no life at all.
Thanks again for your help guys. I really appreciate it.
The instrument cluster voltage regulator (ICVR) only regulates voltage to the gauges; it does not affect the dash light circuit. The turn signal indicators are also independent of dash illumination. Check the dash lights fuse as you said.
