I have nothing to add about the installation but GOOD CALL going for the factory IBC. I've towed with crappy time-delay controllers, much better inertia-based controllers, and my latest three trucks with the factory IBC. Nothing aftermarket can come even close; you're going to love it!
Try it while stopped/parked - with the engine running, FULLY depress the brake pedal. The TBC should now show all bars, even with no trailer hooked up.
Remember, I said you should NOT be driving for this.
With truck stopped and engine running, hit brakes as hard as possible. Also tried to push as far as the pedal would travel and output only shows 1 bar. Tried in drive while stopped as well and re tried, same result 1 bar.
Unless you meant while rolling?
*Edit* Re tried while driving, incidentally a guy in an old Aerostar van pulled out in front of me and I had to get on the brake a little harder than I normally would but not to lockup or anything and showed 3 bars.
Just curious, those of you that tow with trailer brakes. Under normal braking how many bars show on the display as you slow to a stop.
I do realize that this could vary from trailer, truck, weight, etc... Just trying to get a baseline understanding as I've never owned or towed a trailer that required brakes.

Just took a cruise down the driveway to illustrate.
I was wrong: with no trailer connected and stopped, the TBC will only show one bar, no matter how hard I press the pedal. You are good to go!
Just make sure to set it up according to the instructions when you first tow, or if the trailer and/or weight changes.

Edit: cool illustration, crazy!
Again thank you so much for checking yours, I greatly appreciate it.
