2000 exp trailer wiring
the expy im buying has a class 3 hitch and round 7 pin (i think 7) plug. am i corect that the hitch and wirirng is not from factory? and that the dealer or trailer shop installed it? im just wundering if the wires were run for an electric brake controler. there isnt one in the cab right now but that will be my first add on

Dealer/factory, what's the diff? Mine came with the trailer package. You get everything you need except the electric brake controller. When you buy an Expy new, you get a small accessory package containing two relays and a round connector for a trailer. You need to check the engine compartment relay box to see if they are installed, otherwise the owner still has them (somewhere). For a small trailer without the electric brake, you don't need the controller, but you will need a 7 to 4-pin adapter.

i figured at the dealer they wouldnt take the time to run the brake controler wires. if it was factory they might be tucked up under the dash. i know i dont need the brake controler for a small trailer. i want to know what the chances of the wiring being there and saving me time.
what do the relays control???
