Pretty used to and have owned quite a few full size, but my first "lil" one.
Manual steering, manual drum brakes (which need work).
351 with a mild build, c-4 with stall convertor and shift kit, 4.56s spool in the rear, limited slip front. Old 35" Gumbo Mudders Actually cannot believe they look as nice and solid as they do. No weather check or cracks!
Owned it a few weeks now and am starting to wonder about upgrades I had always looked for when shopping...
the steering and brakes.
Can anything from 78-79s been used?
What's best?? I mean cheap w/o being junk or a month's work of fabricating to get to work
Also, it had a full soft top at one time, now just the rails on top of the tb and a couple brackets...
Anyplace to look or anyplace to get soft top and doors w/o breaking the bank???
All I have is a bikini now, may be able to get the original hard top from previous owner. Sounds like it has been stored outside for a long time though
Appreciate any help and/or advice !!! Thanks

That looks like a sweet deal. I'd love to have one of those myself. Where did you find that one?

CL

Local CraigsList
It shows a little better in the pics than actually seeing it in person.
Last 22 years it was strictly an off roader, mud, and sand dune truck.
Paint is 22 years old.
I actually have done a liittle to it and have it re-listed with new ads.
Deciding if I want to do the upgrades or sell and start shopping all over again.
Thanks

if U have:
of course all the drive line;
the tilt steering wheel from the FSB;
&/or
U could make "1 tuns" with it's axles/knuckles (frnt & rear).
My man (McF) in Chesapeake, VA has 1 w/a 400ci from that era...

"...any help..."
JBroncoGrvyrd is right there (in yer geographic area), has The premier EB web site - cb dot com.
Got my 1/2 cab (top) from him for 250 $ in '83.

I guess I will try to be little more specific and see what I can figure out...
Will full size spindles, bearings, rotors, calipers, mounts, and lock outs fit??
Early 70s thru 1979?
How about the IFS stuff? 1980-1996?
Would disc brakes work from an IFS donor truck?
I see how the master cylinder on a little Bronco's firewall is on an angled mount?
Is the master cylinder and vacuum booster same as a F150 just placed on the angled bracket? Or smaller diameter too?
Again,any certain years?
Best to buy a new bracket? I imagine hard to find used...or any other applications.
And ... the power steering??
Pump and gear box from a full size Bronco or F150 work? 70s through 90s??
Guessing I would need a specific bracket/mount for the pump too?
Lastly, I have seen a few tilt wheel steering columns for big Broncos and 78-79 F 150s listed locally. Any interchange to my 73 Bronco there??

VERY much appreciate all the help.
Thinking more about refreshing this over the winter.
Maybe add a "family" style cage and or something custom to hang a 3rd row out over the tailgate even.
Not sure right now, but sand dunes are looking like fun to the family next summer.
THANKS ! ! !

Right now I do know for sure that I will be cleaning a few things up.
The turn signal switch in the column needs replacing. Gotta see why wipers, heater blower motor, and a few other odds and ends are not working.
The pads/gaskets under the front turn signals look rotted. I see the swap/conversion to the smaller earlier ones, may do that or just get new pads soon.
I would also like to get rid of the Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner
They look nice enough, but I would like to just do a chrome lid with a 351 sticker to look more original and blue factory style valve covers.

Tht looks just like what I saw
Thanks or that too!

Looked at Summit and CPP w/o finding a price.
Is it comparably priced to doing a vaccuum factory style set up...?

It's much better than a vacuum setup and can be sourced from a local junk yard. Astro van is the most common one used I know of. Pile of links: Google
