This is new to me truck, so just a simple question. I know these trucks are picky on parts, but the air filter I dont know. Should I use Motorcraft, or can I use a brand the autoparts stores carry to save a few bucks?
The question is which filter is "more filter" for the money...besides it's the only thing keeping the dirt out of your motor so it sorta pay me know or pay me later....
No just going with stock, but didn't want to spend the 75 dollars or so the dealership wanted. Im in no hurry for it, so I found them online for a lot less. Ill order a couple to have a spare on hand.
Well I can only comment on the Banks system as that is what I have. It fits well, has a great seal and great filtration. My oil analysis come back with excellent reports. Because I towing heavy I do require a lot of air and it has provided it.

As said above you can purchase them cheaper then the dealer from Ebay or check your local truck tractor parts dealer’s chances are they have a local Donaldson distributor that can also get the filter cheaper then the dealer.
Received the AFE Pro 7 a week ago and installed it before a short trip for the weekend which included a decent grade. Truck performed well and did not suck the filter minder as did the stock filter did before. Happy so far!
