C6 converter plug?
I am currently replacing the tranny pan gasket and tranny filter. While I was at it I thought maybe I would try my hand at draining the converter. I have never done this before. So I removed the inspection cover and bumped the starter a little till I saw thiss
The pretty blue bolt is a 7/16 th . My question is :
Is this the drain plug?
How much do I expect to come out...if it is full?
Of course I have exhaust pipe that dips just below this, so this should add to the mess. Thanks for any help.

Yup, that's the converter drain plug, there should be another one 180 degrees away.
It can get messy if your drain pan isn't big.
As I recall, the C6 holds about 14 quarts total. Not sure how much is pan or torque converter.

Yes, make sure you have a pan large enough for the capacity of the trans. You'll probably get 4-5 qts from the pan and the rest from the converter.
