I have a 2005 Excursion, AWD, 6.8L gas, 4R100 tranny (4 spd OD) and I am trying to change the transmission fluid and but can not find the bolt on the torque converter to drain it. My pan has the drain plug and I have drained it. My Ford Service manual leads me to believe that some may have the pan drain but not the torque converter drain bolt. I have removed the rubber access plug and spun the converter with much effort but no torque converter drain plug. Does some one know how to identify if my X has a torque converter drain plug?
Thanks,
David C.
I think I may have found my answer in another post. Mark Kovalsky states that 2002 and up Excursions do NOT have a torque converter drain. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks,
David C.
