Question FRX Installed

So a few days ago , I decided to install my FRX that I bought from a fellow FTE member . I installed it with the GOLD spring for what I thought would give me 62 psi . I don't have a fuel pressure gauge on the truck but I do have one which I plumbed into the PASSENGER side port on the fuel bowl to get a pressure . I started the truck and only have 58 lbs of pressure at idle . I had my wife start the truck and rev it up to 2000 rpm with no change and also had her rev to 2500 rpm with no change .

Am I using the wrong port for getting an accurate pressure or should I take out the GOLD spring and try the BLACK to see what pressure I have ??

What are your thoughts about this ????

Thank-you !!

Marcel, good to hear that you got it installed! Those springs aren't an exact science, I'm not very surprised that it is 4 psi off spec. You could try the black but maybe drive it around for a while first because it might be OK at 58 psi which is within the Ford specified range.

Thank-you Travis for your reply . I was really wanting to figure out if I had installed the spring wrong , so that's why I was checking fuel pressure . The truck seems to be running fine and it did quiet it down somewhat . But now my truck seems to have louder injector noise , but maybe its just me . But anyways , I am happy with the FRX .

It sure was a PITA trying to get my big hands down into the tight spot on the passenger side to get the JIC fitting installed . The drivers side JIC fitting was a breeze to install but had a heck of a time getting the hose onto it . I ended up routing the hose around the HPX fitting and the Turbo . It probably would have been easier if the Turbo was out but I finally got it in there . Now just to put some wire loom around that hose and call it done . I will probably undo the drivers side HPX and put the FRX hose inside of the HPX . I might try the black spring to see what kind of pressure I will get with it . I wish I would have checked the pressure before I did the FRX install but oh well .

Sorry for the

I put my frx in this summer with the gold spring. I get 54psi at cold idle and can get it to drop to 46 with some wild driving. My normal driving psi is about 52 and with normal driving gets down to 50. I'm not to happy with those pressures. I am unsure if I should try a different spring in the regulator or if a new pump is needed???

Sorry for the hijack but hopefully this brings some info that helps both of us.

Cell's...put a 90* off the JIC, so it a breeze to install the gauge. I've got a permantly mounted 45* JIC to test hpop pressure. Just install cap on it when done..

This thread makes me think I'm running a lot more for whatever reason it is than I should be. Hijack. I'm at 72 at idle and drop to 58 at wot.
