Fuel pressure question

I have 3/8" hose running throughout my truck. I am going to test the fuel pressure tonight but the tester has a 1/8" orifice. Now, doesn't going from a bigger to smaller orifice cause pressure to go up and hence give me a false reading? Or is it just the velocity of the fluid increases but the pressure stays the same? Just curious about this.

By going through an orifice, it would make pressure drop....but only if you have flow. Since you will not have flow, pressure will equalize and read accurately.

They put the orifice in there to dampen pulsations so that you will have a smoother reading rather then it bouncing all over everytime the diaphagm strokes on the FP.

OK. Thank you Kevin. I didn't think they would make a 1/8" orifice without first thinking of the obvious (who has a 1/8" fuel hose???). I should have realized this to begin with but just wanted to get confirmation. Thanks again. Reps to you.
