1986 F250 4x4 6.9l with a C6 and fixed yoke NP208.
What Moog part number should I use on the rear? I've searched and found the t-case output is probably a 1330, so a Moog 254. What about the axle side? I just don't want to order the wrong parts.
I'm hoping my joints come out easy with a ball joint press... no rust at all.
I should have checked their website.. searched here and on various parts sites.
So it's almost a conversion joint of sorts?
Did Ford use the stupid plastic sealed joints in these trucks like GM started doing in this era? I don't have a torch or a vice handy and will be doing this job in a parking lot. Last joint I ever replaced was in an 88 Suburban and it wasn't too bad after we figured out we needed to melt the plastic out of it.
Mine were just retained by snap rings on the driveshaft yoke and by u-bolts on the relevant output and input yokes. I spent more time cleaning the rust out of the snap ring grooves than I did actually removing the u-joint.
I just looked at mine and don't think they are original to the truck as they have zerk fittings on them... and are caked in old grease. Hopefully no rust then.
