Insulation Part Number

Need some help finding a part and determining how important it is. The insulation above the turbo on the cowl overhang is coming apart. I have to take the turbo off to change a cracked Y-pipe on my 03 so I though it might be a good time to replace that insulation as well. Does anyone know the part number on that piece?

The silver back of the firewall stuff? If you can't find a Ford part number maybe a
Turbo dealer will have a kit for doing what you need and even if you do find a Ford
part number the other may be less.

I think it was silver before it got all torn up but it's not the firewall itself but the part that comes out from the firewall and overhangs the turbo. But I'll contact some of the turbo dealers to check.

I'm sure that would help but I'm looking at the piece that actually screws into the cowl above the turbo.

Are you talking about the metal heatshield?

I believe when new it has a foil looking outer layer with a fiberglass insulating material underneath. It's a formed piece that is mounted under the cowl above the turbo.

If it's the metal Heat Shield, the part # is 3C3Z-9G478-AA Picture below shows 9G478... You may want to verify that though.

If there is something on it then a former owner may of added something.
All that it is made of is formed metal.

You're looking for the firewall blanket. I thought there was a LOT of stuff to take out, but there's a seam on the drivers side that makes it not too bad.
