That is why a efficiency map is important for any turbo. TN got one together yet? I haven't seen it, wonder why? Garrett and H2E both have one. Using that and the formulas on the Garrett site you can plot your desired HP right onto the map and see where you fall. Turbonetics, well, just get it because it is pretty, all polished like that. No excuse a company that size has no map for that unit.
I almost suspect they have one and don't want to reveal it. Are we to believe they designed and produced that unit without testing? Well? Off the soap box now.
Just thought I would throw that out there for you if you are considering a turbo upgrade. Not wanting to start a turbo war. From what I hear, the TN is a great unit but give us the map so we can do the math and look at it. Great warranty on that BB unit though.
BTW, not trying to start with you either Kris.

Actually, not looking to do a turbo upgrade at all - just wondering what the numbers on the turbo mean. It is on the '00 F450, and if I recall correctly (not going out to look right this second) the number is 1.0 (stock). Guess that is why I don't hear it surge. Probably has to do with the gearing and the RPM that the truck runs. Like I said, not sure. Mike, once I read up on this topic, I may jump up on the soap box with you.
