tailgate molding attachment
hello-new to the forum- just acquired a 2001 f250 sd. was wondering how the oem plastic molding attaches to the top of the tailgate? as mine has none (just a series of slots and holes punched into the steel), do i need to procure some fasteners along w/the molding? thanx for any and all help.

Open the tailgate. On the side that faces inside the bed is a sheet of metal with (I believe 6) TORX screws. Remove them and remove the sheet. If you have the trim piece lay it in position. The screw holes will align with existing holes. Secure with your fastener of choice.
