What are some small additions you can do to your engine to increase performance but not decrease the bank account to nothin?
Can you describe what "performance" means to you? Some people like to use their truck for off road, others like to rocket down a drag strip, others like to tow and haul stuff, others like their truck to last a very long time with with only routine maintenance etc....
Cheap and diesel def. don't go together! haha performance wise that is....
PMS is definatly not cheap. I bought my truck for only $7k and I believe I have more than $7k in to all my mods and I still should get a BTS transmission, another $5k!!

Thennnn comes the Buck$Zooka-laden Tugly, whipping up a whirlwind with his wallet wafting. $10K off the lot, $20K worth of mods, repairs, tools, equipment, and upgrades (including the labor to get the ugly jobs done for me).
Performance on the streets. Higher psi, quicker spool, quicker acceleration... Etc.
but I definitely agree making a 7.3 move isn't cheap.
For higher PSI, the cheapest way is a "boost fooler" that bleeds pressure before the sensor. You can also get a chip or bigger turbo.
Since our trucks have fixed vane turbos, that will be a hardware upgrade (housing or entire unit) for the turbo to spool quicker. You can also get an intake and exhaust for more flow which might spool the turbo faster.
A chip will get you quicker acceleration. Many go with DP Tuner but there are others out there too (Beans, Tony Wildman, Power Hungry Performance, etc.).
If you want to get any power-adders, I HIGHLY recommend a set of gages to monitor engine performance to prevent damage. EGT, boost and tranny temp are the most common I think.
The options are only limited by your wallet. I'm sure others will chime in since I'm still a rookie at this and I've been doing this for 6 years.
And when you are ready to order your parts, call Clay at Riff Raff!

Well... I will fill you in I have a boost fooler. That was one of my first things. I just installed gauges a week ago and LOVE them! And I do plan on getting a Beans chip, Riffraff USA Ported Turbo Housing and Wicked Wheel 2.
