'01 Supercab:: I've got a real bad rust spot in one of the two grooves that runs back & forth on the roof. Obiviously, they're there to strengthen the sheet metal. Water will pool there and there was an apparent flaw in the paint coverage and now its RUST.
I want to cut out the rust and replace it with new metal. But I'm concerned about what I'm gonna find when I cut through the groove and remove about 2 sq.in. of metal.
Will there just be a nice hole and I'll be looking at the backside of the headliner or am I gonna find gussets, braces, or other supports directly under that groove?? This is at the extreme rear end of the groove itself.
