That looks nice. I couldn't find the D ring rated that high when I was ordering, so I went with the hook.

I figure I am more likely to pull something smaller than myself, so I figure 10K should handle things most of the time.

Other times, I would probably go with the Pin technique, until someone shows me how they know more than ARB about recovery techniques.

Let's even forget ARB's lack of knowledge in the field of recovery.....

Let's look at the logic of it.

What holds the hook or D ring to your truck????? Waiting....Waiting....

Did you win the prize????

Of course! The Hitch Pin ding ding ding ding ding ding! You won the prize.

I've pulled from just the hitch pin in the receiver. It bends the pin in the middle. Been there done that. With the pin through a insert it is trying to shear the pin not bend it. A lot harder to shear a pin than bend it.....

Also, the straps I have showed the ratings by wt of stuck vehicle. O, and I was wrong, the 6 inch wide strap is rated at 27,500 lb vehicle.

I stay away from chains except with a steady pull, no jerking on a chain

Shear vs bending is much harder. I would not use the pin on a strap. That shackle insert looks nifty

I use an 8000 lb China winch in the front hitch. Seldom do I use straps to just pull and never have I had to snap pull or bungee pull. If the winch seems to work too hard I double over thru a ****** block and hook the hook back to the factory rings. I have pulled Ford Dodge and Chevy up long and steep hills. Several cars and trucks out of drainage ditches when sliding off road in snow.

THe only thing I do not care for is pulling with the truck. It seems just as easy to block the wheels and pull out the cable. Many feel the need for expensive Warns but at just under $400 plus $200 for front hitch I am very happy. Still never have had to pull myself out yet, knock on wood.
