a boy wants to have pull off.
My truck:
77 Ford F150 4x4 3.50 gears 351m C-6 I come in about 5,800 pounds with all my stuff.And most importantly A/T tires.
His truck:
Like around 82 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 454bb and I assuming an auto trans.I am pretty sure that it has stock gearing lets say whut 4.00's at the most, but he also has 35's.Prolly about 6,000 pound. And he gots BFG M/Ts.
So im pretty much F-ed and should just say no.I don't really want to though.Ok so he has stronger axles,100 cubes more than me and mabye higher gears. So I am pretty behind.I get choise of place. Will my at's get better bite on concrete than his mt's.I've seen him pull and he likes to gunn it from the start. If i could hold em til his tires start spinning, will I have a chance. If you got doughts say so,Ive betten him at mud runnin alredy anyway.
I'm goin to pull it.As soon as it gets colder. Were supposed to get a cool front so im going to hold off.For some reason my truck runs better when its like 75-80 degrees out.I don't know mabye it just feels like it.This guys little brother just happens to be in all my classes, and were pretty close. He going to help me sneak a peak,to get revenge for his older bro getting (his truck).Man im taking this seriously, but you see im a sophmore and the other guys a senior,so you know it would be badd --- to win.
let some air out of your tires, keep your hook point as high as possible. You can even take a drop hitch, flip it upside down and put your clevis on that.
do what the others said and also, weld some tabs on the rear end and on the frame, and run a tractor link between them, so you get no robbing suspension flex....
I won't try to talk you out of it, but it is really a bad idea. Have you ever seen a chain snap? NOT COOL! Besides that, are you really that independently wealthy? Let the guy run his mouth. If you already beat him in the mud, his truck must not be much. You already know you have a superior truck, do you have to break it to prove this? It's fun to do this stuff, I can't disagree with you there. But think of what you could have bought with the money it's gonna cost to fix it. Also, if it doesn't break, it WILL cause enough stress on components to shorten their lifespan. Sorry if I sound like a dick, and please if you do this, use a strap and keep bystanders at a safe distance.

The pulls off.I saw him at the store a minute a ago when I was getting some cheetos, and we talked it over and I told him he'd have it won because his truck is hevveyer and what not.he admited that that was true and the winner would be the one with the best grip.He still says his truck is better though,so were going to the airport and drag it out. This way it truck against truck, and the traction thing bs and weight thing is settled.I got a little supprise though(the bottle)im hooking up that chit.Well adios
The only way I'd do this is on hard packed dirt(not wet mud)Dirt. Concret is really HARD on everything, and I just wouldn't do that.
Like everyone said, put some weight in the bed(and in the cab for that matter), let some air out of tires(better traction), IF you have a receiver, flip a drop hitch and put a shackle in there, use a BIG strap, put in in 4 Lo and 1st, hold the brake and give it about 3/4 throttle.
His affective gear ratio is more than likely lower than yours, and he doesn't have that much more torque than you.
fishman- No not really, I have seen what chains to do the doors on a suburban. Had a friend that had one got over the top of the truck from the back and take out the windshield. When I was in the service, there was a safety movie that everyone has to see before going out to sea. It was called snap back or something like that, anyway, even tow straps, even THICK ones can produce bad carnage when they let go. So, A. I don't want to see anyone hurt. B. I don't want to see anyone abuse a truck that bad. If this is this kids only source of transportation, walking sucks! I guess I'm being a party pooper, sorry. It would be cool. I love the fierce ford pride here at FTE. I love to hear about chevies getting their asses handed to them. I'm that fella that when someone says they're a chevy guy, my response is simply "'I'm sorry." Then I explain that I meant trucks, and I wasn't aware chevy made a real truck. See ya-let us know what happens.
Well were going to race tomorrow. He wanted to pull truck to truck no weight tricks or stuff, and wanted to do it in loose dirt.I wouldn't have a dang chance no matter how much motor i have, because he got mt's.Were just going to race em.Motor to motor no bull. Were pretty even he has a big block and weighs about 800 pounds more, and I have a small blok and Im a little lighter so it seems fair.Hes going to have me off the line, but that truck has no ***** after like 20.He thinks his big block has more speed, but since my uncle built the motor I know that after 2,000 rpm that motor don't got s--t.
