Code 539 (KOEO): A/C or Defroster ON during KOEO test
Code 452 (CM): Computer detected an error in the VSS or PSOM signal during the last 80 warm-up cycles.
Code 334 (KOEO, CM, KOER): EVP circuit above the closed limit of 0.67 volts.
Your transmission issue is most likely caused by Code 452. Check the VSS sensor in the rear axle. Remove it, inspect for signs of debris/thick grease/etc. Clean it then re-install. Clear the codes then drive the truck again. If there are signs damage then you have a bigger issue to deal with. One step at a time.
Wow, time flies by. I didn't realize it had already been almost a month since my last post in this thread. I need to send out a big thanks. I cleaned the vss sensor and all has been well...except for the a/c. About the second time I was having a severe shifting problem, I was running pretty high rpms as I couldn't shift out of second and the speed limit was 50. I kept hearing a whine out from underneath my hood that would come for a few seconds and then disappear for a few seconds. Then the whine came and stayed but when it did, my a/c got warm quick. I went through two recharging cans of freon and my a/c will stay cold for two, maybe three days afterward and then go warm again. Is there anyone here good with a/c as I'm only remotely familiar with the systems.
Alright, well I spoke too soon. The transmission started acting up again today. I'm gonna replace the vss sensor and see where that gets me. But I'm still stumped about the a/c though. Does anybody have an idea what might have went bad in the a/c?
got nothing on the AC but how is the transmission after replacing the VSS? I'm experiencing problems and replaced the VSS but its still shifting hard and the overdrive "off" button is still flashing. I just bought a TRS and am going to install it, as well as do a transmission fluid change.
Well, not so good. The transmission only seems to do the hard shift, torque converter disengage thing when it's hot, but it has done it when cold as well. It doesn't flash the o/d light every time though which is weird. My abs light started coming on as of late but not when the transmission is acting up. I just changed the fluid with mercon v at 16 quarts and when I got done changing the fluid, I left the house to go to the junk yard and got about ten minutes of driving in and it started acting up and had to baby it to get to the junk yard. I ended up finding a small block 4x4 zf5 while I was there for $125. Talk about God smiling down on me that day. I'm surfing around on fullsizebronco's tech section now trying to find other things I can do till I finish getting the parts together.
