Im planning on updating the stereo in my 76 f100 4x4 single cab. Right now i have an older cd player with two worn out 6x9's behind the seat. It looks like there may have been door speakers at one time tho i have not taken off the door panels yet. What came factory in this truck speaker wise?
What size speaker(if any) can i put in the doors? What have yall done in your trucks?
Any tips, suggestions, and especially pictures would be appreciated!!

Door speakers are 6.5-inch rounds. OEM door speaker harnesses are hard to find because most opted for the single dash speaker with an AM radio... some opted for AM/FM but it's usually the aftermarket that provided AM/FM/Casette decks.
Head to your local Walmart or auto parts store. Alternatively, visit Crutchfield.com for good prices and a relatively wide selection.
Dennis Carpenter has factory wires and grommets for $20. each + $10. shipping.
Your total outlay is $50. I'd snoop around in a favorite bone yard first.
