Seems high for Idaho where there are still some old trucks left. I live on the east coast where almost all of them have rusted away so that would be a realistic price for a "rare" truck.
I'm on the east coast also, and you probably couldn't build one for that price around here (assuming that it is a really straight good running truck). I say it's worth what someone is willing to pay. As they continue to dry up and become harder to find the prices will continue to rise.

You guys need to come to the southEAST...straight bodied 2wd trucks can b had for slightly more than scrap value...add a couple hundred more for a 4x4. If it's a decent driving/running 4x4 1500-2500 usually brings it home. Add some fresh paint, like the truck listed, and you're talking 4-5k. TRUE restorations bring bigger money, but purely opening an LMC catalog and replacing rusted parts, then adding some paint, isn't an actual restoration.
Well, if you think about it....this is what 8500.00 gets you.
Rebuilt brakes, chassis painted, engine with goodies, trans, steering box, stainless lines, u joints, t case, wheel bearings etc., wheels and tires, 6" lift in progress.
No rust and no replacement panels!
Make me an offer.......it ads up at an alarming rate and disintegrates a pile of cash in a big fat hurry.
PS...this is not an attempt to sell outside the Classifieds.
That is a BS resto, the cab color is all wrong and the bed colors are backwards.
This is what a proper restoration looks like...
It's a cool rig. But these days that's not even close. But that's what lots do, they way overprice and then you start a dialogue if you're actually interested. I would only be able to do maybe 4500 on a straight up cash offer on that one. But that's because I ain't rich, but I don't see anything too spectacular about this pickup. It's all about the journey anyways, bringing these dents back to life. Anyone with money can just buy their way into whatever, there's no integrity in that.
I will say this though, even though I still think that truck is a bit over priced, fixing up an old truck can add up in a hurry. After my 77 restore and also putting some money into my 75 supercab, I could have bought about 3 already fixed up trucks in really nice shape all 4x4s and probably crew cabs.
I live a couple blocks away from this lot. https://www.mikeandson.com/classic_cars.php
I will never know how he figures out his pricing. Sometimes he is about what you'd expect from a dealer and other times things get badly delusional.
Here's another one we can "rag" on. '73 Explorer $18K!!. Yeah, it "looks" nice but manual brakes, manual steering, no A/C, stock AM/FM radio and look at the "quality" wiring around the coil. Wrong glove box emblem (Ranger XLT) and to top it off, less than 8,000 miles.
Plus, I don't really care for the wheels, 20's on a dent just don't look right. Too much wheel, not enough tire. 1973 Ford F100 for sale in Fort Worth, TX - D2l85e5ho

lol nice! Before I started restoring mine it had a green cab with a yellow bed. Drove it for a couple yrs doing work. Down the street my friend had a black cab with a yellow bed as well. If I could up-load pictures I would. People instantly stereotype you when they see you in a truck such as these.

That truck does come with a fire extinguisher though!
Maybe they're thinking its a requirement after their wiring job?
