Whose truck pulling with there dent?

Im looking for advice on what gear to pull in. I have tried 2nd low twice and i just seem to run out of gear with no tire spin. So should i use 3rd low, or 2nd high? The truck is a 76 highboy np435 400 horse 390. Thanks

When I pulled my dent I did 4 low in 3rd gear, but I had a custom SM465 swap with different gearing. Gear ratio and tire size and type play a huge factor.

I have a C6 but I run 4 low 1st and run about 5000-5500 rpm and that is about a happy speed. I would think that since your transfer case is a 2:1 Low, 2nd high might be higher than 3 low, not sure though. Try 3 low I think and see where you have more speed, 3 low or 2 high. I would go just one gear at a time.

According to a MPH calculator on the internet 2nd high and 3rd low seem to be almost the exact same. Im running 4.10 rear gear with 35 inch tires.

I pull mine ive git a 450 horse 400m manual trans. I run 4 low 2nd gear and it seems to do well with good wheel speed although I have 33 inch tires with a 3.54 gear ratio.
