I am going to buy a set of tires today that are bigger than my last set. Looking to end up around 33inches diameter. I have modded v and modded b codes as well. What size and brand would yall reccomend? 285/75/16?
I do 95% time on the road but would like to have a little capability for light offroad

That size will work but everybody has their pet tire brand, I like recaps myself.
I went throught this recently trying to find a 33" tire for the stock 16" wheels. What I found is you are really limited with the 16" wheel so I got some black 18" Helos and went with a 34" Nitto Terra Grappler.
Couldnt be happier.
Also, I live down in texas so snow is basically non existant, and rain is rare. My biggest factor is how long they will last (broke college student).
I have read online good things about BFG All terrain KO, Goodyear Silent Armor, Michelin M/S2, and Michelin A/T2
I had 285's BFG's all terrains E rated on my 02' I got 75k on my first set, just sold that ex with 50k on the 2nd set, still had about 25k miles left on them. The ride is a little stiffer, you do feel more of the road, but I actually prefer that.
My new to me EX has new 325's Nitto Terra Grapplers (smoother ride) but I've heard they won't last nearly as long as the BFG's. just my 2 cents.
Im now in that debate with myself to get all terrain or highway tires. I am on road 95% of time, but having the capability to go offroad would be nice to have.
I just got 285 75 16 Michelin ltx. My Ex is a road warrior, so 10 hour drives to grandma's house need to be as comfy as possible. Had the Goodyear Duratac of the same size, but couldn't handle the noise, and lumpy feel (they came on the Ex when I baught it). If you can afford them, and don't mind the muted look of road tires, I highly suggest them. I had them for several years on my 2500 suburban. Great in the snow, great in the heavy rain. Not so great off road. So, I don't off road my 8k plus School Bus.
I am going to go with the TreadWright 265's in E rating "The claw" as soon as winter hits and with the special compound they have..........look at their site. They have an extremely good success rate with them.
