Knock Sensor Replacement

I have a 2007 navigator with very low miles (30,000). The engine light came on with a code PO330 knock sensor 2 circuit malfunction (bank 2).

So looks like I have to find the darn thing somewhere in the intake manifold, test it for impedance or a bad wire \connection and or replace.

Are there any instructions or ideas on how best to proceed without taking it into the shop?

Both are under the intake, so the intake has to come off. BTW, with the intake off it's a great time to replace the spark plugs.

Anyway, view the attached PDF and numbers 3 an6 are the 2 knock sensors.

alloro,

Thank you for the reply. Any idea how long or how difficult the job is to get to these sensors?

That would depend on your skills and your tool collection. Without knowing that I'd say3-5 hours.

BTW, before you pull the intake, you might want to access the connectors for the 2 sensors and swap them just to see if the code moves to the other side. The sensor could be good and you could be having a wiring issue. If it's a wiring issue then you would've pulled the intake for no reason.

Swapping the leads is a great suggestion. Is it difficult to get to the sensor leads to do the swap?

I have a pretty robust tool collection but 3 to 5 hours is quite a bit. Do you know what the shop time allows for this procedure?
