yep got a couple of triumph motor bikes as well Aus 56 and yes suppose its game travelling around in something you don't know much about but spent about four days in Bakersfield checking it out and sorting a few things out its running a 350 Chev and 700r transmission which seems to be common in America would of loved an old flat head V8 but will look at that later
well finally done it and bought a 48 f1 so far so good picked it up in Bakersfield CA and after driving through the valley of death and Mojave dessert where now sitting having a beer in Kennewick WA on the way to Missoula
You came from Australia to pass through Kennewick and didn't even wave?
Hey Trev. Welcome to FTE. Had you told me that you're driving an old truck to my house to pick up the instrument cluster, then I would have made sure to be home to meet you and show you around my parts collection. Plus, the 52 that you saw on the trailer has a flathead in it, but is missing the heads and oil pan. Turn back around and come get it. I'll make you a deal you can't refuse.
waved to a lot of people on the way we must look odd as get lots of photos taken and waves and had a few tell us where crazy but where having fun doing it
well a good run up the highway this morning sitting in Bozeman now working out the yellow stone plan talking to a lady last night at the motel and she had sold her dads 49 f1 and was still kicking herself over it was all original and in real good condition she said hey 51 panel man forgot to say thanks for the cluster cheers had a look at a bench seat in Missoula but was out of a 46 so will keep me eye open for one
well after three days without communication with the outside world and a thoroughly enjoyed adventure in Yellowstone park now sitting in salt lake city north having a beer and working out the plan for the next three days at Bonneville must admit what a fantastic place Yellowstone is compared to national parks back home the old girls still going fine thought I would give the pipes a clean out and give her a run up to 85 for a bit didn't seem to complain to much HA
Wow what a cool adventure and with a cool looking "old truck" as well. Glad your enjoying your US tour. I did something simular across Europe back in 2000 and had a blast, unfortunatly I was in a moder rental car, it would have been much more fun in a cool old Ford. Keep posting pics of your trip!!
well pulled up at Bonneville salt flats this morning and what can I say don't know if it was the movie the worlds fastest Indian or the old pictures I've looked at but for me WOW when I stood at the sign this morning it was awesome one big tick off the bucket list yep I know im early but the plan was to walk around while tec inspection was happening and have a yarn to some of the guys while taking a few photos fantastic day and now sitting outside the motel in the shade on the main road watching some of the old hot rods going back and forth unreal
