I got bored and wired my waistgate shut, much to my dismay my truck still only peaks at about 9-10psi.
It had the waist gated garret turbo, not 100% on the size. But I was looking At putting a bigger compressor side on it to get higher boost. I then can regulate it to around 12-13psi and later on (when I install head studs and finish my innercooler) I can turn them up higher.
Just thought I would see what you guys have to say.
And also wish me luck Saturday, I'm racing the Pre-Stroke at the Lost Creek Raceway diesel drags. I will take plenty of video and photos. Almost have my traction bars built. I figured why not?
Based on the smoke from your earlier video Im guessing your intake (or exhaust) is restricted, with a turbo cal pump + high altitude (5,000') I can barley get mine to puff smoke from a standstill
I have a custom built 3" down pipe, intake is 3" with a massive BHAF.
The strage part is the truck made less power with downpipe only, after adding the stacks and full exhaust it built more power. So I don't think it's a restriction
The setup the way it is builds 212hp and 413ft-lbs. which is more than a lot of IDI's I know.
And yes the pump is maxed
But with the waist gate wired shut it still only hits 9psi.
I welded mine shut and with a straight pipe, 6637 and maxed pump I can see 15 psi from my 093. I'd say mess with your pump and try to squeeze more fuel out if it
Ill take a look. The fuel screw is literally bottomed out and stripped. Timing is advanced to 9 degrees @ 2,000rpm. Should be easy to find a leak considering the turbo and plentum are still factory
I read everywhere that some people can hit 1,000degrees when they are loaded down ect. Hell my truck hits 1,000 if I'm doing a hard pull from dead stop to 70mph
And it did that before I had my stacks. When I have some time ill post pics and a video

There is your issue.... Number one, its your pump... Number two, You have listened to too many people who think that Advanced timing is better on these engines.... try bumping your timing down to around 6.5*, that will help, number two, your pump is wore out, and you need to find a pump that will deliver the fuel....
Trust me... With the little amount of fuel these engines have, you need to think outside of the box... Its better to have more retarded timing when you have a lack of fuel, because that is what is going to spool that turbo...
A wore out pump is a wore out pump, but retarding the timing is going to help that situation out.... Its the way we have to roll when we are short on fuel...
I don't think the pumps low on fuel tho. She smokes like a train at WOT. So I don't think it's lack of fuel
I am thinking you have an exhaust and/or boost leak somewhere. Gaining power by adding post-DP exhaust pipe is your first clue. That should never happen. Something probably changed with the fitment and seal of the pipes when the exhaust system was added, and there may be more opportunity there. If your fuel is there, and in-out flow is unrestricted, seems like you must be loosing drive pressure or boost pressure.
Try to get a hold of Russ "typ4" I think thats his name on this site, I got a seal kit from him and it help me out.
My main problem was the o-ring going to the snail and the turbo flange gasket
