I Called in the accident along with a MN police report and 21st Century sent and authorization to our loal shop hear, Y&S Autobody. I've used them before and have always had great results.
Since its a "deer accident" it's considered under comprehensive on my insurance and only requires a $100 deductible.
Took it over this week but since we are pulling the trailer over to Bolsa Chica parking lot campground in Huntington Beach just after Labor Day, they couldn't guarantee having it back in time, so we will wait until after.
Gotta give cudo's to 21st as they move quick and effortlessly.
If they give me a total repair cost, I'll pass it on.
She loves to cook hot foods, including tamales, chili relleno, chicken enchilada's, etc. She will cook over 20 dozen tamales for our Christmas Eve party.
We purchased 2 gunny sacks of the green long hot chilis, although they are also available in mild, hot, and very hot varieties.
These are grown in the Hatch Valley of New Mexico, located in the south west region. They are shipped here locally to Whittier during August and early Sept.
Although many roast these in tumbler type roasters, we BBQ them before freezing. Once thawed, simply removing the stem, peeling off the cover and removing the seeds, allows for easy cooking.

This becomes a four hour plus job. Love the smell.

Although these are "green" chilis, many are red because they are slightly older.

After roasting on the BBQ, let them cool off before bagging.

The end result, bagged into smaller sizes and frozen for future use.

As said before, these come in gunny sacks, labelled to ensure these are authentic from the Hatch Valley.
There is also a similar chili grown here in Cal, the Anaheim chili, but experts say they just aren't the same. Hatches are known for growing at about 4,000' with both warm days temps and cools nights, making the difference.
We enjoyed a pork dish last night with these chilis just to top of the day.
When my son was a Boy Scout, one of the dad's owned some of the rotary roasters and hired some of the older boys, my son included, to man the roasters. Un-sacking, roasting, and re-sacking for each customer. I think he had fun, but it is a dirty job and he came home a mess with all the soot from head to toe, burning eyes, nose. I think he only was willing once. I wonder if that guy is still involved.
I loves me some chile reyeno!
There are usually 5 or 6 Sat's to pickup your chilis. The crop was better this year so most got there's.

You never see one.
Did the deer get hit by a car? Guess so. Other wise, he has to hand back his deer card.
Out of site to the right is a cyclist standing there watching.
I got up there about 10 am and was the 2nd camper looking for that Nirvana spot. Didn't get the pole position, but got a beautiful site overlooking the Channel Islands & Oxnard plain. Reyes Peak if y'all in the area. Plenty of space for others, will be there 'till Lunes.
