How does it work? I have a guy that wants to buy the boat, using it. When I get the money, he says he'll have a shipping agent pick the boat up.

Hey Pat... Paypal works great... but like others have said, be extremely careful with out of town buyers, shipping agents, etc... Be sure you speak to the actual guy that wants the boat, not some middle man. A guy here got scammed of $1000 trying to sell his jet skis to someone from out of state/country. Is this a call from craigslist ad?
I sold my Harley through the motorcycle forum to a guy in Wisconsin... it was trouble free, but we talked on the phone several times and got it all set up.

Yep, off of Craigslist. I won't sell it unless I can speak to the guy. I texted him that I wanted to talk over the phone about it, haven't heard anything yet. Wonder how you could get scammed using Paypal, though. I mean, if you have the money....

Make sure you use Paypal's protection plan just to make sure..
It sounds like a scam to me Pat.. Why would someone from MA be looking at boats in NE.. It's not like we don't have a bunch here to buy..LOL
Unless your selling a Yacht or some one of a kind special..

Now you know why I'm asking all these questions, this whole thing sounded weird to me. I won't do anything more unless I can talk to this guy. I found it hard to believe that, unless he was a dealer, he would want to buy a boat, halfway across the country, sight unseen, other than the pictures on CL.
