My Paint Plans
Some details for your consideration...
1. Think about extending the Dentside moulding to the flat areas of the bed sides. Right now, the bed looks like an afterthought with no trim while the cab trim terminates terminates at the back of the cab.
2. Separate with orange and white (I assume Wimbledon White) with a black pinstripe.
3. What about the hood and tailgate? For the tailgate, think about an orange center section outlined in black with black "FORD" letters. Might be cool to get custom reflective black decals for some extra bling. On the hood... it would look kind of strange all white. What about using the black hood treatment ala 69-70 Mach 1 Mustangs?.. But this time with a mostly orange field outlined in black with a single or double black pinstripe to frame it. Have it stop short of the rear hood parting line so it looks intentional rather than dropping it off at the body gap.
Btw, those wheels are directional. Right now they roll against each other. To me they should spin like they are laying down tracks so the front one is what looks correct. Take a look at your other wheels and swap them around to make sure the "blades" are spinning in one/same direction.
One question.. what year/make/model did ya spec the tube steps from? I need to do that for my 4x4.

1. Not my doing, AFAIK, this is how Ford handled the Flareside with trim. But, that is a cool idea, just not sure how to finish the ends.
2. Also a good idea, my original plan was to make a thin white line and thin orange line surounding the middle (at bottom of two tone would be orange/white/orange/bottom white) But, the black would tie in the dent trim.
3. The tailgate suggestion is about what i had in mind, Just hadn't finalized that. The hood treatment you suggest is right on though!
I knew I should have put a disclaimer on this post... This is not my truck, just an image I "borrowed" off the interwebs. So, I can't take blame for the rims, and unfortunately can't help with the tube steps, but I would love to add them to mine.

2. White against orange is OK but the added contrast of black will make both colors pop. Is the orange metallic? Or maybe Grabber Orange?
3. Cool. 'Glad to help. The rear ends of flaresides look "toppy" or top heavy. I think tricking the eye to give the truck more horizontal visual weight would really help. Therefore, the height of the orange field should be limited to no more than half the height of the tailgate and one letter wider (with spacing) on each side. Also, consider making the black border 1/8-inch thicker at the bottom than the sides and top. Again, just a wee tad more visual weight.
Yessiree..... I saw after posting that it wasn't your rig. Btw, I still see those wheels on cars and trucks and over half are mismatched.
Trippindicular!!!

To be honest, I wasn't expecting any constructive feedback. It's not exactly a common combo on Dents. I was expecting a little ridicule, so your suggestions are much appreciated.
Btw, my background is architectural/graphic design so I'm very happy to lend years of education & experience to your project.
Low buck is cool. I dig the orange... a hint of black on the fields will help to tie it all together.... plus it'll look less of an orange sorbet and vanilla Dentsicle!
