Plugged Trans Cooler?
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...and-video.html
However, my trip took a turn about halfway through. I got the pan drained, dropped, filter replaced, crud cleaned out of the bottom, and pan reinstalled with no issues. Then, I pulled the trans cooler return line.

Reference blue and red arrows. Red arrow was where I expected the trans fluid to flow out of when I started the truck... blue arrow was Ole' Bessie on a flat rock 6-9 seconds after startup.
When I pulled the return line initially, fluid was running in a light stream from the blue arrow and never stopped until I plugged it back in.
Needless to say, the auto hobby shop personnel weren't pleased and I got to wipe the floor for the next half hour.
End result is: new filter, and 12 qts of fluid changed. I suspect the trans cooler is plugged (no temp gauge) which is why the fluid came out of the aft port on the trans instead of the return line. Anybody dealt with this before?
Thanks for the link, at least I'm not alone in this. I'll take a look at the tranny bypass (so to speak). Any real world advice? Just seemed very strange taking a transmission fluid bath instead of changing my Trans fluid.
