I hate to ask this question.....

I have a co-worker selling his 2004 F250 EXCAB 4x4 short bed Sport. Red with Black leather. 109k miles. Very Good Condition! EGR cooler and ...one injector replaced , in the past by dealer. $12,000. Should I buy it?
I am soooo sorry to ask this question, but the 6.0 (and its an 04) scare me.

edit: All Stock and has always been stock. I know this for a fact.

Is the 04 early built or late? pop the hood ,on the passengers side valve cover do you see the ICP if so its a late built, the Change of EGR coolers from 03/early 04 were better ,but on the other hand ICP was under the turbo and is a pita to change. I have the late built 04 and really haven't had to much problem after I replaced the heads, ICP, and ICP pig tail. I'm saving up for the bullit proof and you will see this on all 6.0 (that people care about anyway).12g is not bad for the miles, but try to get it for 10g and put the extra 2g into the hpop and egr cooler.

If this same truck had a 7.3 I would not have even ask.........
It would be in my driveway!

I have worked my butt off to get him to 11k, but 12k is all so far.
I have a 1995 Cummins that I just put a built trans into and now turning it up a good bit, but still going to be a DD. I would keep any other truck stock, ........well, kind of.

$12k is a good price. Just remember he is a co-worker, don't blame him if it goes south.

It took a while!

Sooooooo, I bought it yesterday.
He has not driven it very much in the last year, 112600 miles on OD. In the last 5K he has had New....Goodyear 285/758/16 tires, ball joints on driver side only, both hubs, ICP and pigtail, one injector #7 I think, Oil cooler, EGR Cooler, Two bats , and something else I cant remember.......$10k.

And build date is 07/2003, so this means it has the "better than bad" oil cooler??

No, oil cooler is a standard oil cooler unless it was upgraded to the new one with additional rows.
I'm guessing you have the round EGR cooler which is a strong unit.

Congrats on the new to you truck. Maintain it and it will last a long time. Get some gauges as suggested and only use OEM filters.

I am going to a Local Dealer on Monday to pull a report on the truck and see just what has been done. I do not thing the PO has not told me any untruths. But, he is not someone that would follow these problems with his truck. I have a SGII, but have not plugged it in yet. Tomorrow if I can remember before leaving for work.
Should I look at an aftermarket Oil Cooler as I will be there?
Stand pipe?
stc fittings (not sure what that is)
Dummy Plugs (not sure what that is)
Hpo screen (not sure what that is)
?????
