E4OD in a 1978 F250 with low trans hump
Has anyone put an E4OD in a 2wd with a low hump behind a 460? I know that it will need an adjustment to the cross member, and an electronic controller. I have seen that it is much larger than the C6 and do not want to begin collecting parts if it will not fit under the low transmission hump that is not removable.
Thank you

I put one in my 77. I had to cut the floor in the place that the 4wd cabs are cut. Then I found a 4wd hump, welded a plate over the tcase shifter hole, and bolted it in. You also have to trim a tab off the bell housing for clearance. For a driveline, I found one out of a newer truck with the same body configuration and trans that fit perfect.

Yeah, IIRC there is actually a line already in the floor pan of where to cut. The 4wd hump is a direct fit, and the carpet will still fit over the hump. That was probably the easiest part of making it fit.

you are correct, they couldn't have made it any easier to locate it. there are even lil spots indented for the clip nuts
