What was your ECT when you recorded that delta?
and what were the conditions when you checked the delta?

eot/ect deltas are only meaningfull when the engine is totally heat saturated and up to temp. Takes app. 20 to 30 minutes at highway speeds to attain the proper temps. Ect should be in the 190 range. The temps you quoted are meaningless.

Get the truck up to temp and get on the freeway
drive 20 minutes then hold 65 MPH 5 minutes
read temps. Also truck should be unloaded and freeway should be flat.

Post back the EOT and ECT
One other thing is when you do get a temp spike does it come back down fast?

If that's *C, you should look at replacing the oil cooler. (243/199*F).

If those temps are celcius, and after warm-up, and sing 65 unloaded......

I just replaced an oil cooler with 40 degree deltas after 30 min on the road, driving ,65 with no load on flat terrain. My delta dropped to 7 degrees.

You must have an egr delete, or lucky the egr has not blown yet.

When u do the cooler, put in a new ipr screen. Do as good coolant flush using international restore and restore plus. The run international EC-1, silicate free coolant with a coolant filter. Dump the ford coolant.

DO NOT COMPROMISE ON THE COOLANT FLUSH.

I had to replace an oil cooler after 60k miles because someone didn't flusj the coolant after an egr rupture.
