ROBBINthaHOOD, what is behind that panel? Is it as easy as drilling the hole & pushing the Scanguage wire through? Or is a little more involved than that? Either way, it doesn't matter since I just bought a mount from you. I'm just trying to figure out how much time I should plan on the install.
That particular spot is open behind. If Im not mistaken it was a 5/8 hole for the cable connector itself to fit through, I used 1/8 for pilot holes for the mounting screws which are supplied.

YES! I drilled a hole for the wire and used 2 small screws to mount. I had some issues with drilling the dash, but consider this a permanent installation and bit the bullet.
I had a pic of just the mount, but I can't find it. Here's what my dash currently looks like. I've epoxied my XM radio to the top of the mount.
Dang it! My 2004 dash is different than the 2006's pictured. I guess I'll have to figure out another place to mount it. I might just put it to the left of the steering wheel like it is pictured on the Bullet Proof Diesel site.
Last question on the mount. Is it a pressure fit or do you put velcro in the back of the mount?
It is a pressure fit. I have the one in our 01 Ex mounted just below the headlight switch. I dont know how different the 01 to 04 is. I dont have any issue with its location in the 01. Ive got you one boxed and labeled just ready for the mailman to pickup.

Guess I should have read the other posts better instead of scanning. Several clearly said no velcro needed. I'm thinking mounting it there will be fine. I also might make a bracket to mount it below the cubby hole just above where I have the brake controller mounted.
Headviking, thanks, I'm aware of the blend mount. Just don't want to go that route.
