No velcro. People like em I guess cause many have bought them and gave positive feedback on them. I made one for myself and posted pics of it and ever since people have been interested in them so I make them in my spare time. When people quit asking for them Ill stop making them. Several have asked for one recently but I did not have any so just letting people know that I have a few more. If not, oh well. Oh and my marketing agent is in the Bahamas this week.
hey guys! i can vouch for Mark. i bought a scangauge mount from him, and i've been pleased with it. everything is precise, and Mark even takes the time to explain it to the regular joe on what exactly needs to be done. great idea. easy to setup. no messy wires. exact fit as seen in pictures. in fact, the pictures do not do justice to what a simple straightforward mount can do for u. no more looking down. no more checking off the rear-view mirror mount. and like wat he said, no velcro. i'd buy another one again but i only have 1 powerstroke.
Yeah, that's what I was getting at. They look very clean, and he could market them. I'm wanting to learn more as I just picked up a ScanGauge II and saw this. If no velcro, I will assume now that you all have holes in your dash or somewhere that this is mounted? That would be a drawback for some right?
Anyway, let's see the photos of the mountings from satisfied customers. Also pricing?
Here is a link to one of my earlier threads about them and it has some pics of where mine is in my 05. Also mine was pretty much made by hand so it isnt as clean looking as the new ones as I have a model for it on some cam software. And on the mounting it is held to the dash via 2 screws and I have a hole drilled that I ran my cable through for a clean install. Several people were asking if I could make them to use the side port so (dont know why I didnt originally) I have now added access to that so you dont have to drill for the cable. I still prefer the clean hidden cable route but to each his own. Thanks. Oh and PM me for pricing and such. Ill message you guys that have asked.
sorry about the lack of pictures guys! it escaped my mind.
but yes, i got mine mounted in the same spot where mark has his on his excursion. right over the a/c vent, on the left of the radio. i see everything clearly now.
if any of y'all have facebook, u can find pics of mine in my ford album. hit the facebook link in the top right hand corner of my reply, and it'll get u there. lol.
I can see the argument of not wanting to put holes the dash but I also got tired of the velcro glue smearing everywhere from the heat and also not holding the scanguage securely. I had no problem putting holes in my dash for one as I doubt I will ever get rid of the truck but if for some reason I did I would probably leave the scanguage and mount in it for the new owner and just start over. Also on the hole issue, I added access to the side port so the only holes in the dash would be from the 2 small screws that hold the mount in place. I probably should have made them like this in the beginning but I for one didnt want the cable hanging off the side but after several asked if I could make it accessible I started doing them this way. Im not knocking the blend mount which goes above the rearview mirror but IMO you are still having to look up to see the guages plus switching between them, again IMO, could be distracting while driving. Having mine in everything is still relatively in line of sight and changing between guages isnt any more obtrusive than changing the radio station. Just some pros to having mine (since my marketing is lacking..lol). I honestly never thought when I made mine that people would want one so I am very thankful that I have had so many asking about them. Even if someone doesnt get my mount I still feel good that they took the time and atleast noticed what I was doing. I dont really carry an inventory on them so in my spare time at work Ill make a few, usually 5 or 6 at a time but I sometimes make a dozen or so and I normally dont have them very long. So thanks to everyone whether youve purchased one or not.
