it is not curved. it is actually straight, but placing it on a curved windshield makes it appear curved. take a look at it from the side and you'll see that they use the straight edge of the roll to make the bottom of the strip.
also, depending on your local laws, it is probably not technically legal. most states limit you to the AS1 printed on the windshield. but most law enforcement won't hassle you unless it is way below your rear view mirror.
i had them do this to my work truck and i LOVE it.
also had them do 25% in the front and 15% in the back. it's not legal, but i've never been bothered, and doubt very much that i ever will.

You are CORRECT!!! They told me that when they installed it Mine is really not legal as it is a little bigger than allowed in the front....and the tinting on the front windows is illegal here in California which is why I did not go as dark. (thinking if they could still see me MAYBE they wouldn't stop me for it...time will tell..lol
Did you think about placing the 3.5L Twin Turbo emblem under the platinum section? Where you have it now looks out of place. Also it would make it look the aftermarket emblem would look part of the F150 logo.
Other looking good. Customizing is fun when you got the dough for it
Rob, do you remember the name of the maker of the tint? I had 35% on the 2006 and when I tint the new truck I want to go ceramic. I also wanted to go to 30%, but 32% could work nicely.
I will find out for you and let you know. He uses only the best tinting...especially on my vehicles. Really the 32% is perfect for me. It is not too dark to where you cannot see well at night and it does reflect the sun well enough especially since it is ceramic.

Funny you said that...I was looking at that very thing before I put it under the F150 logo. It sort of made it look a bit crowded. I was going to place it right on top of the Platinum...but I ended up just doing it this way. Putting it under the Platinum made it look a bit out of place due to the curvature of the fender well.

Your friend, the Xacto knife will help to make it custom looking! You still have some meat to carve off. Where are your shop skills!?!? LOL

I may relocate them...I will have to see and do some measuring. If anything that would be on top of the Platinum badge. Maybe I will order the ones with the red 3.5L and see. BTW I would just use a heat gun or blow dryer to remove them along with some fishing line.

Hey, I just had a quick question about that DeeZee tailgate assist thing. Did you install one on both sides, or just the one side?
It goes on just the left (drivers side). The instructions are really easy to follow and it works excellent. People are surprised when I can just let the tailgate go and it doesn't slam. Oh and the people that were capping on the tailgate step, when they actually used it to load things in the bed of my truck have changed their views and really see the benefit of it...lol
They did have to take the mirror off..but did a great job reinstalling it. It looks as if it were from the factory.
At my local tint shop. They have a program on the computer that is plugged in to a machine that cuts the tint. So there is no removing of the mirror. They do 2 strips in the front. Left side and right side but looks like one when installed. The line is not noticeable from the outside and you see a very fine line from the inside if you look for it. I decided to tint the whole car. I have been told by manny people here that the rear is colored glass. It offers no protection from the heat or UVA/ UVB rays. I hope it helps with the summer temps and black leather.
Funny thing though when I was at the dealer the other day...I saw that they had a new mustang on their show room floor and on the list of upgrades they had window tinting...for $450!!!! I was like are you kidding me?? I could tint 3 cars for that price!!

The machine you are referring to is a vinyl cutter. I hooked my buddy with a used cutter. His tint guy uses it all the time to cut tint panels in his shop when he has tint work orders. My buddy also will do vinyl graphics packages for rocker panels and hoods.
Most of you already know the saga of my truck vibration while towing...and Ford suggested getting air bags since they already pretty much eliminated my non towing vibration and shudder with pinion angle. After a long battle with Ford they agreed to pay for everything and allowed me to choose the kit that I wanted. Seeing how I have a platinum, in my mind I wanted the best Air Lift had to offer...not to mention this newest system was the ONLY system of theirs that would allow a 5th wheel hitch or gooseneck in the bed of the truck. (previous versions take up the same space needed for installation of the hitches)
I had the air bags put on yesterday...they look awesome and work really well it seems from my initial testing. (in my driveway) The system is built REALLY well and looks to be of great quality. I got the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate as well as the WirelessAir system. I wanted the ability to remotely adjust and monitor the pressures without the pressure gauge mounted somewhere int he truck. (I wanted something clean looking)
Here are some pictures of the setup!
This is the drivers side bag...you can see how it is mounted and how well it is built.
A close up of the airbag
The WirelessAir controller displaying the minimum pressure setting (position one in memory and 5 psi)
This one I addd to show that it has the internal jounce bumper inside the airbag. (a really good addition in my opinion in case of sudden deflation under load!)
The heavy duty compressor in the WirelessAir kit which was mounted behind the rear bumper tucked up under really nicely.
A look at the bag from the top
Kind of hard to see but this is the manual inflation tube behind each of the rear tires in case the remote will not connect or has any issues with signal.
Just from messing with it yesterday I am going back to the shop to have them change the way the compressor gets it's power. For some reason the installer set it up to have power when the lights are on (from the wiring harness I guess) which makes no sense to me. The system needs to be able to work to automatically keep pressure at the setting in case of a small leak from any of the fittings or lines. (I don't know if they did a leak test before delivering it back to the dealer...but my guess is no)
So there you have it...I will be testing it out this afternoon and report back with the results and any further comments on the system!
