My buddy got 3 of those, very nice! He put one on the tailgate and I can't remember where he put the 2 on the sides. Been a while since I've seen his truck

First I am wondering if I should just leave them black and then I am wondering if I should line them up with the edge of the F150 badge?

Hey Rob did You ever do the Badges? I like the idea of Replacing the ECO Boost Badge over putting Them Under the F150 Badge

I like the idea of that tailgate drop down assist thing, may have to get one for myself. As for those floor mats I have a set in my Dodge Ram (work vehicle) and they are great. I may have to get some for my F150, but the ones I have in it are doing a good job too.

Thanks everyone...I will add the badges this coming week and put up some pics. I am in the process of another upgrade and will add pics and a whole write up about it soon. I do still have the door detents to add as well. (ben holding on to those for awhile now)

You'll love the detents, makes a huge difference. As I mentioned before in the other thread, just have patience with that passenger side "plug". If I was to do it again, I would just peel the plug back some instead of removing it. What a PITA.

Did northerlightlabs ever come up with detents for the rear doors for your Screw?

Well I was thinking about possibly a APE module..but I am still reading up on them. They are supposed to increase boost by 2 psi throughout the rev range. I might eventually get a 5 star tune....haven't decided yet.

tint

hey there. how did you figure on the 32% tint? does that number match the factory tint? and how much more does it cost over normal tint ? and one more question, does that make it harder to see at night ? sorry for all the questions.

Ok well my next upgrade is the 3.5L Twin Turbo badges! I ordered them from SickSpeed on eBay. Here is the link:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHROME-BLACK-METAL-3-5L-TWIN-TURBO-ENGINE-MOTOR-BADGE-FOR-TRUNK-HOOD-DOOR-/321251978958?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4acc1c2ece&vxp=mtr
They also have some that have the 3.5L of that badge in red.

So it was nice out today and I thought I would go ahead and put these on as I think they will be a great addition. I was originally thinking to make them the same color as the Ecoboost badges (Green and Blue) but decided they would look better to match the F150 Platinum badge.

To begin installing them on your paint you need to start with a clean surface obviously. What you need to do next is strip off any wax in the area that you are going to put on the badges. I used a 50% denatured alcohol and 50% distilled water solution in a spray bottle. Spray some on a microfiber towel and clean the area thoroughly. Removing the wax will give you the best possible surface for the badge to adhere to.

Here is a pic of how I judged where I was going to install them. To me they looked best center as much as possible under the F150 lettering. I made sure that they were 1" below the badge all the way across and about 1 1/4" from either bottom edge. I then made a black line on the paint with a dry erase pen so that when I remove the badge to pull the plastic strip of the back, I wanted to be able to line it up perfectly. You can see the black mark goes from edge to edge.

After sticking them to the paint I pushed down hard enough to push the panel in all the way across the face of the badge. Remember after installing them to then reapply some wax to protect your paint all around the badge. (everywhere you wiped with the alcohol)

Here are the new badges installed on both sides!

Hope you guys like them?...I really think they add to the looks of the truck. One thing I did realize after installing them that the Platinum part of the badge on the truck is just that...platinum color (not black lettering) I wonder if this was intentional? Stay tuned for another upgrade soon!

The tint was 32% labeled on the product. It was installed at a local tinting shop. It is not the same darkness as the back windows or the rear window as they are about 20% (darker) I think they work great at night especially cutting down on glare from headlights behind me on both mirrors. The ceramic tint also reflects more heat and is a bit more expensive but not too bad. During the day they help a lot with sun on your arms and face and glare from the sun. With a good window covering in the front you will keep the heat out quite well!

Ok here is another thing I did do which I did not report...I added some tinting to the front which is limo and I believe ceramic as well. I hated having the sun blind me between the small visors of the truck. Here are a few pictures of it...you can see it is curved on either side(sorry the first pic is not the greatest but it is almost golden hour here):

Took this one from the back seat to show how it looks and how it is curved. I REALLY like it...helps tremendously!

Rob, do you remember the name of the maker of the tint? I had 35% on the 2006 and when I tint the new truck I want to go ceramic. I also wanted to go to 30%, but 32% could work nicely.
