I had a good comparison on stock verses Baby Swamps.
A good friend of mine has a 97 2wd long bed and bought the same 6 position chip as mine (tw) My truck will make more power with baby's and stock tune than his with his in the highest tune with stock sticks.
I have no problem pulling my 24 ft enclosed in overdrive (5speed - 3.55's with 285-75-16 tires) Anywhere.
My EGT is in the wrong spot (right out of the turbo in the down pipe, two inches down).
I have never seen over 1200* even pulling 29000, lb gross of scrap iron on my 28 foot goose neck.
How much difference is there between EGT in the down pipe vs. on inch out of the port in the manifold?

IIRC like 200-300 degrees difference. In some thread I read a while ago there was a member who had like 3 pyro guages setup. One for the drivers side manifold, one for passengers manifold, and one for post turbo.
Thats just going from memory, but I would recommend installing one in the drivers side exhaust manifold.
Alex, what position gave the highest EGT readings?
Manifold by far. Cruising there was about a 200-300* difference. At WOT we were seeing around 600* difference IIRC.. I need to find those pictures again. Get that pyro out of the downpipe and in the manifold ASAP..
Well today getting prepped for Carlisle, I decided to remove the Boost fooler all together.
Also decided to change the fuel filter. It was not that old, maybe 3-5k. The fuel looked clean in the bowl, but the filter element was Black. I have been running either 2 stoke or ATF in each tank of fuel ti lube the injectors, would that do it?
I also unplugged the EBPV(INSTANTLY set a P0475). Any way to get that to go out without plugging it back in?
If the obs psd defuels and sets a code like the superduty, you're going to want to carry the OCR (boost fooler) with you. After 20-22psi or so it will throw the cel and start giving you issues.
The ebpv solenoid needs a resister to prevent the cel. I can't remember what size but it will keep the computer happy.
I kinda miss the ebpv for cold winter startups in Maine, but pa isn't that bad where I am in Lansdale.
I don't think the ATF will blacken your fuel filter. Seems like its filtering like it should. Good to have it changed for piece of mind. It's hard to rely on a gauge to tell if filter is plugged because I think the port is before the filter. I'm trying to remember if it reads bowl pressure or line pressure after the filter. All I remember is that I was disappointed with fords fuel setup on this engine and I got rid of it. My work trucks are still stock but my good truck isn't anymore... (I need to finish it now)

The stock obs fuel system is a regulated return. Worlds better than the SD fuel system design with the exception of the fuel pumps. The Schrader valve will be reading fuel pressure before the regulator on the return line. Just like it would be read on an aftermarket regulated return.
Your injector o-rings might be getting worn, hints the black fuel filter. That would be my first thought. Very slight amount of engine oil in the fuel system.
