My dum dum 15yr old decided it was a good idea to slam my passenger door shut resulting in my glass falling out of the door mirror. Are these really just held in with the weatherstripping ? Mine is very very hard. Dunno if i should try to fix or replace. Lmc prices both for $50 bucks total. Have yall messed with them before? Whats your procedure/experience?
There are local parts stores(not the chains) in my area that can cut a new piece of mirror to fit. You can get a cheap replacement(the whole mirror) fairly cheap at the chain stores, but their quality is not that great. So if you can find a local glass shop or parts store that does that kind of work, it's not that big of a deal. I think they also have the rubber. Fisher Auto is one of the places that used to do it in my area.
