Finally got my hands on another Ford truck and what's the first thing I do? Break the pass side mirror! Anyway, I've called all the major junkyards in Alaska and nobody has one, nor are they willing to locate one. Dealer wants $155 for the whole assembly.
I need just the head really, but will buy a whole assembly if needed. The truck is a 95 F-250 and the mirrors are the recreational gooseneck. The Ford part# is F2TZ-17696-E for the whole assembly. Anyone happen to have one or a set laying around?
Btw, nothing like a 460 mated to a 5-spd, awesome truck! Only bad thing is it doesn't pass a gas station willingly.
Here's a 2 page list of replacement mirror glass that Dorman sells. If one of them matches
the mirror glass you need, go to O'reilly's web-site and input the Dorman part number and
see if they stock it.
They had the lowest price ($9.00) for a replacement mirror glass when I needed one for my
F150 with the swing out mirrors.
Any auto part store that sells Dorman Products should be able to order it if they don't stock
it..
Are you talking about the mirrors that fold away and fold out for towing? I have those on my truck and my old truck I had. You can go to any parts store and buy just the glass part. I did that actually got it at pepboys. I took out the rubber ring and popped out the broken glass and replaced it with the new mirror. Also you may need a little bit of adhesive to hold the rubber back in. You really couldnt tell it had been replaced.

I'm pretty sure they are the same mirrors that you have on your truck. I'll drop by a parts store tomorrow and see what I can find. My little brother mentioned replacing the glass, but said its a pain in the butt. Guess it depends on how ambitious I feel, I do need to fix it though, its not fun seeing 4 cars in my mirror when there is really only 1.
