Ford starting using the "Crew Cab" emblems in 1970, when Ford starting putting the square emblems on the cowls for certain packages. It is the exact same square metal base that was used on 1970 "Camper Special" "Heavy Duty Special" "Contractor Special" and "Farm Ranch Special". The metal frame is the same, it is just a separate metal foil decal for each package inserted in the same frame.
Part # D0TB-16720.
D0TB-16720-? is the ID engineering number marked on the emblem. To get the part number, a Master Cross Reference Catalog is required to cross the ID number over to the Ford part number.
However, the suffix must be known.

I've read that before about the crew cab emblems being the same base as other types of optioned trucks just use a different metal foil decal. My question is what ever happen to the stamp that made the crew cabs metal inlay? I sure wish it was floating around somewhere so me and others could get a new set made up I did see that someone remade these but they were nothing similar to the originals when compaired side by side. Here's the back of my emblem on my 71 crew cab suffix is A

^ is that a crew cab emblem on side of cowl? I have some literature brochures from the 1971 model year it has a crew cab or 2 pictured in it. Believe it says something about being for a 6 man work crew. I'll have to take pics of it next time I'm around it and remember.
Well, it sure as hell not a camper special emblem on a 2 1/2 ton truck. Here is the one you are probably thinking about. It is an F 350 with crew cab emblem. If your thinking is a camper special emblem, think again, this truck does not have long arm stainless western mirrors, which was part of the camper special package.
