Electrical Issues
I recently upgraded from a 95 F250 to a 2002 F350 that has a few electrical issues.
First off, I don't have cruise control, horn, and the air bag light is on. I know that is usually the clock spring. The question here is where can I find one? None of the local part stores around here have it or can get it. Is that a stealership part? Also, I'm not sure if a bad clock spring would have an affect on the next issue I'm having.
Next issue being I have no interior lights. Neither the switch or doors make them come on. All I could find while searching is lights that don't shut off, not that won't come on. I have no map lights or dome lights, but I do have dash lights (which was another issue the search liked to bring up). I'm guessing a relay or fuse, but there was talk of a VSM or GEM or something of the sorts and I have no idea if that would take part in what my problem is (or what those even do for that matter).
I'm not sure of how all these fancy parts interact with each other and if one issue could cause another or vice versa. Any help would be great. Thanks
Also, the truck likes to think the key is still in the ignition. It will beep at me while the door is open (and also unlock the driver door if I hit the lock button). And the overhead console is also out. Not sure if either are related to other issues, but more info couldn't hurt.
On to the real problems
Does the radio come on? There is a power saver/power delay relay
that could cause the problems and you usually get a dead radio at the same time.
For parts have you given AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake Parts (previously Tousley Ford Parts)
a yell? They are one of our sponsors and really have some good prices.
BTW they are in the process on a name change so don't panic if they say
XPY parts and not Tousley Ford Parts. Someone will give the new name.
