No interior lights

Got a couple problems that may be related.

First, when the doors open, the interior light doesn't come on. The two switched lights will turn on if the switches are flipped, but the courtesy light doesn't come on. I pulled the cover and the bulb, and the bulb is still good... filament is intact and not burned. I've checked through the owners manual, and can't identify a fuse that is for the interior lights. Also, if I roll the dimmer switch for the dash lights all the way up till it clicks, the courtesy light still doesn't come on (as it should).

Second, you know how when you use your key fob to unlock the doors and the parking lights will flash and the interior light comes on? Well, the interior light doesn't come on (obviously, see above...) but the lights don't flash either. Double locking it does induce a beep from the horn, so I'm assuming it does have the security package installed... FWIW, the truck (bought used) didn't come with key fobs... I kept the old ones from my '03 F-250 and reprogrammed them for this one ('06 F-250).

So, is there one, unidentified fuse somewhere that controls all that? If not, what's my next step?

Thanks!

Bad relay I would think.
I'll have a look later at the wiring diagrams
later tonight.

Well there is a relay that the book says it non-servacable in the
Instrument Cluster Microprocessor also in that same
controller is the Battery Saver Relay.
he relay you want is Interior Lamp Relay But it is non-servacable.
You may be able to al least check it.

Does your dashboard's "door ajar" light come on when the door(s) open?

I installed a dome light over-ride switch to disable interior lights on demand.
There is a wire in the pass-side kick panel which controls power to the
interior lights.. might check there.
In the '05+ models it seems the lighted running boards have a separate
power feed under the hood - I am still waiting to verify that though...

Hmm... lots to check into here it seems! No, my tail lights and flashers do nothing when I use the remote to lock/unlock the doors...

Yes, the door open light works on the dash when the door(s) are open... which leads to another unrelated question, so I'll start a separate thread for that... :-)

I'll check out that wiring diagram and see what I can figure out. Sean, does that interior lamp relay also run the switched lights? I'm guessing it does cause they're all in the same unit... just different bulbs. If that's the case, then it would have to be good, right? Cause the switched lights both work...

It looks like the lights that you can turn on wit the switch in the
over head are on there own. The light switch looks like it feeds
into the over head after the control relay. BUT it is also controlled
by the battery saver relay.

Ok, cool... so it still could be the relay then. You said it's not serviceable, but that I might be able to tell if it was bad. What am I looking for?

I've got a similar problem with my F350. Locking and unlocking the doors will turn on the interior dome light and the white exterior bed light but the exterior lights no longer flash when I lock/unlock. My auto headlights no longer work either but will come on if the switch is turned to the on position. What's weirder is that when my 5th wheel is plugged into the seven pin connector, the 5th wheel's running lights will only come on if the engine is running and the headlight switch is on. Engine off, switch on, no running lights. While this is only an inconvenience, it really bugs me when stuff like this happens and although I haven't looked very deeply into it, I figured this was all related to a bad Gem Module.

David,
I have not been into that system so I don't know what your going to be
seeing when you look at it. It can be anything from a bad coil or the contacts
of the relay. It could also be some cause.
