Startup surge

I have a 99 f350 and I've been noticing when I start up the truck & let it sit there, after a short time it will start to surge, almost like a cyclic hiss out the exhaust. One way to stop it is to just tap the brake pedal. if I don't put it in drive and go but let it idle in park, it will come back but eventually stops. I live in Florida so it's not 'cold' out.

that would be normal at certain temps, you might do a search on what temps activate the EBP system.

Your EBP sensor might be going bad, telling the valve to close when it isnt supposed to.

last summer mine kept closing while i was driving, replaced the sensor and it has worked like its supposed to ever since.

I was hoping that was it, I saw the video online of the tube coming off the exhaust manifold going to that sensor sometimes gets clogged with soot so I had replaced that but obviously that didn't fix it.

I did my tube with the sensor still works great and I got about 2.5 mpg better than I did when I had the old tube and sensor. So I would put my money on your sensor being bad. I think its like $87 for a new sensor at riffraff
