Hey Folks,
I posted this a while back and tried a search but still haven't found a answer and thought that I would try again since I have had such good luck with this forum. Anyway my trucks (2000) EBPV whistles when the truck is going down the road at a steady speed but the instant that I speed up or slow down the slightest little bit it stops and then starts again when I am at a steady speed again. It wont do it when it is warmer outside but now that it is cold again I notice it. The truck can be fully warmed up (like run for a hour on a day that is 40) and it still does it Anybody have any suggestions. Somebody said something about the oil temp sensor could be bad but I asked the guy at the ford garage and he said that he had never heard of the OTS going bad and this guy has worked on these things for several year. He said he did not know what could be causing the noise and thought that it could be a blown seal in the turbo or something, but I don't think so. The truck runs fine and the mileage has not changed. I can move the arm that is connected to the butterfly in the valve so I don't think that it could be stuck, also it goes away the instant I touch the gas too. THanks for your help
sounds like the tube from the EBPS to the passanger side exhaust manifold needs to be cleand out.....the sensor is right in fron of the hpop and just behind the cerpentine belt..wire on top and a brake tube on the bottom that go's to the ditch side manifold..pull the tube from the sensor and run a wire down through it..it builds up with soot in there and the sensor cant read..

Ron is right on. This is normal when it is cold out but shouldn't be doing it for an hour. Mine did it for a couple of minutes till it was warm. I cleaned the ebp sensor and tube and now it doesn't do it at all. It is easy to do. Do a search on ebp sensor and you will find alot of info.
