Howdy!
New guy here but not new to the forum boards. I don't know if any of you visit crownvic.net or grandmarq.net but you may have seen me over there. I just recently picked a 1982 F100. Its a standard cab, long bed, I6, manual with overdrive and very limited options. For being in Indiana since the mid 90s its not too shabby. My wife wonders why I would want it. I like it for what it DOESN'T have. I hope to throw some pics as I work on it further. So far I've replaced the valve cover gasket, lifter cover gasket, whole ignition tune up, rebuilt the carb, and changed the rear end fluid. I still have to change the tranny fluid, put the new brake hoses, shocks, tie-rods and center link on. Then I can finish cleaning up the body a bit. As for my other vehicles, 2004 Kia Optima, 1995 Lincoln Town Car, 1982 Crown Vic 2dr, 1970 Chevelle, 1973 Oldsmobile 88. The town car is where my screen name came from. P71 is the police package for the vics and I wanted my town car to have that kind of performance. It ended up with a custom tune, poly bushings, addco sway bars, edelbrock shocks and a whole bunch of other stuff. Its not your grandpas town car. Anyhoo just wanted to say hi and I'll try to help with any info I can although it looks like most folks here have the tech covered and then some.
Hey there p71towny, I just have this weird love for the Crown Vics, big comfy and powerfull, I actually like every car in your stable. Anyway, go this way to meet other owners of trucks like yours (fun stuff, yours is the last year the F-100 was made): 1980 - 1986 Bullnose F100, F150 & Larger F-Series Trucks - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
