"Pink Spring" ?
The Book "Ford Performance" reccomends a "pink" relif spring in the oil pump.
Any one know of a source / part number for it?
I know we used to shim them in small block chevy's will that work? if so how much? 1mm?

Try Blue Thunder.com for a Pink spring. Or just shim it. Or just do what I did, just go buy a high pressure oil pump, either way you'll accomplish what you want. I overhauled a 59,000 mile 390 in a 68 Merc , just replaced the bearings on the crank ( no turning neccessary) and with the HP pump it's got 70psi hot with 20-50 oil
