Knock sensor question on engine swap..

I am still in the process of swaping my engines and I noticed on my new block that it does not have the hole drilled in the back for the knock sensor. Is there going to be any problems with just disconnecting it?

Knock sensor question on engine swap..

I recently (last year) did a swap from a 1991 302 with 5 speed to a 1982 block with a C6. I ran into the same problem and I just did not worry about the knock sensor and left it unplugged.

The sensor is used to retard your timing if a knock is sensed. You'll have to make sure you get you timing set 100% but other then that it will not effect anything.

Thanks for the info. I figured that would be the end result. Did the computer throw out error codes after you disconnected it?
