06 Body mounts

06 Body mounts
2006 King Ranch ,112K on the clock
Year and a half ago ,had to replace the lower rear body mounts ,,,Now the center and reaer uppers are gone..
I have only found one aftermarket kit ,,Daystar -KF04050BK....
Seems like these mounts are failing prematurely or are just crap..But , anyway ,going to replace them all.
Does anyone know if Ford has made any improvements to these..?
Anyone ever done this to their truck ?? Is it doable in the driveway ? looks like i would have to raise the cab about 3inches to clear way for removal and install of new upper mount ..
Any tips would be appreciated

Yours is the first body mount failure I've heard of. I don't think they're usually a problem. I don't know how much stuff (if any) you'll have to disconnect to raise the body 3". Usually it takes a two post lift to do a cab off head gasket job and lots of stuff to disconnect.

I'm pretty mechanically inclined , but I would sure hate to screw this up in the driveway trying to jack the cab up high enough from underneath..I think it could be done ,but i think i'll just suck it up and pay this time around....
Just spoke to a diesel shop here in Houston,that specializes in Fords and they said probably a little over $500 parts and labor using Ford parts to replace all 8 upper and lower..
Still would like to hear from some of the Ford shop techs to see if they've seen this before...I do tow a toy hauler (10-12K) around to motocross tracks . So it does do dirt roads ,,but I don't offroad and beat on it ..Like I said before ,,seems awful premature for these things to be completely disintegrating..But,,it is what it is and it must be fixed.

Yeah,i had read that about that aftermarket Daystar kit..They are Poly..and the shop said they really wouldn't recommend that kit,but would intall it if I bought It and That I would be better off if I stayed with Ford,,which is what i'm going to do..
They said they have actually seen this quite a bit and it's not very uncommon.

For everyone else ,,just got out from underneath the truck...The most fwd mounts by the radiator support,in front of wheels,,both sides ,upper and lower are split vertically all the way around and some of the splits are wide..the next set back (under your feet) are disintegrating ,upper and lower,both sides ,you can touch them and chunks come off,,next set back,( between the doors) the upper is split and cracked vertically,all the way around,,the lower is in good shape,,the furthest aft mount upper is completely gone on both sides,the cup the upper mount sits in is riding on the frame,,the lowers are in good shape ,as I replaced them a year and a half ago....
So,,,if your truck is riding crappy,clunking on big bumps popping in turns,,and has just lost it's nice ride,,and you know everything is sound suspension wise,,,take a good look at your body mounts...
