just installed the the TS performance chip and so far so good. I still need to get gauges to make sure but the power is definately there and the tranny feels like it is shifting much smoother in my opinion. ill let ya know how all looks once I get gauges.
Take a look at the power struck tuning. I've not tried it but have read nothing but good forum feedback regarding customer service and tune quality. Two position with 50 tow and 75 or 100 might be all you really need, and it's $225. Here is the link to his website: POWER-STRUCK, osgood indiana, performance tuning
As soon as I sell my extra DP f5 and get another extra TS chip, I will be trying Power-Struck also. I have had 5 different companies tunes on my truck so far and none gain mileage. If you are looking to gain mileage to isn't gona happen. Proper maintence, no lift, stock tires, are the only thing that REALLY gains you mileage. My truck does 16-17 daily driving. All highway I get 18-19 if I'm lucky. I have about every mod available done to my truck and I am lucky to get the mileage I get! If you are going to be pulling 30k you may not be able to use a tune at all without your EGT's getting too hot. I personally would not run ANY tuning without an EGT gage. You would be amazed what your EGT's can get up to on just one hard eccelleration from 0-80mph with a HOT tune. Good luck and have fun!
the best and only mod that will increase MPG is a grade 8 bolt mounted under the throttle!
Telling some one what kinda chip to get is like telling someone what kinda wife to get. They all promise to be the best. Some like blonds, some don't. Some like thick, some don't. Some have only tried one, so they don't know what anything else is like. Do your research and pick your pony and ride.
bfife is right, the best solution for MPGs is go easy on the throttle. I would also add that Ford got it right, regarding MPG - just make sure the truck is 100% and you can get almost 20 MPG on long hauls while cruising at 65 MPH on the flat with no wind.
